
Mary Robinson participated in a range of events at Women Deliver, a global meeting on maternal and reproductive health which took place on 7-9 June in Washington, DC. The gathering of 3,500 world leaders, donors, and activists aimed to highlight achievements in reducing maternal mortality, breakthroughs in reproductive technology, the role of women’s health in development writ large, and remaining obstacles to improving maternal health. Moderator of Panel on Delivering Solutions for Women at the Margins: Reaching the Hard to Reach, (1:30 to 3:00PM EDT) to explore solutions to the cultural and political barriers that impede access to maternal, sexual, and reproductive health services for the most marginalized women.
Interview on NPR Talk of the Nation (3:40 PM EDT) to discuss Realizing Rights, MDG 5 and what needs to be done to reduce maternal mortality.
