Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice15 September 2010
"To effectively address climate change, we need the participation of all people everywhere with fair, accountable, transparent, and corruption-free procedures. Relations between peoples in different parts of the world must change profoundly."
- Mary Robinson, 14 September 2010
As Realizing Rights approaches its planned end in December of this year, Mary Robinson is planning her return to live and work in Ireland in 2011. She has established the Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice (MRFCJ), within the Innovation Academy established by Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin (UCD). The Foundation will work to foster Irish and international leadership on issues of climate change and sustainable development and promote climate justice and equity - ensuring human rights are at the centre of the climate change agenda. One of MRFCJ's first projects will focus on the importance of women???s leadership in preparations for COP 16 in Cancun, Mexico at the end of 2010. As part of this project, MRFCJ is co-hosting with Realizing Rights a meeting on "Women???s Leadership on Climate Justice" in New York on 17 September. Related Links:
