Webcast: Connecting the Elders, Palestinians and IsraelisAugust 28th 2009
Since the Elders were founded, they have closely followed events in the Middle East. This week, they visited the region for the first time as a group to listen to the people affected by the conflict and to offer their support to all those working for peace.
During their visit, the Elders wanted to show that the internet can be used to help transcend the physical and imposed barriers that divide the people of this region. Throughout the week they have been blogging about their thoughts and experiences. At the end of the week, on the morning of Friday 28 August, the Elders brought together the young Israelis and Palestinians they met during their trip to join them for a live discussion, broadcast worldwide via the web.
This event took place on the morning of Friday 28 August and was conducted in English. Hebrew and Arabic speakers will be able to watch the full event with translation on the Elders' website.
